From the President
Dear AFMC Friends and Colleagues:
If you’re like me, there’s something revitalizing about getting back into a more regular fall schedule. And who knows, maybe attending the AFMC Conference might be just the spark needed to rekindle your enthusiasm for the coming year! Here are just a few of the things we have planned for you:
Presidents Council Workshop
An orientation session for all senior club and district presidents.
AFMC Chairmen Workshop: “Musical Chairs”
An orientation session for all AFMC Chairmen.
Treasurers Workshop: “Three Ways to Streamline the Treasurer’s Job”
Presented by Jimmie Sinquefield, AFMC Treasurer. Jimmie will update treasurers on new banking procedures and AFMC best practices.
Festival Chairmen Workshop: “The More You Do It, the Easier It Gets”
Shelly Brown, AFMC Festival Chairman, will make all things related to Festival completely understandable—I promise.
Social Media Workshop: “Extending Your Club’s Reach with Social Media—And All You Need is a Phone”
Presented by Jeff Madlock, IT Manager for Hope Independent School District.
Silent Auction Fundraiser
Silent auctions are a great way to make a little extra money—everyone wins! Remember to bring at least one item to the Conference to go on the auction table. It should be something you would be willing to pay at least $10 for. This is not a white elephant thing, so no gag gifts. I’m very proud of the lovely architectural art piece I bought last year. And the pumpkin door hanging decorated my house for a number of weeks. So I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone brings for our fund-raiser. Oh yeah, don’t forget to bring cash or checks so you can take home something memorable!
Senior Club Presidents: Be sure to share this invitation with your club treasurer and anyone else in your club who would like to attend. Additional registration forms may be downloaded above.
